Welcome to My Cheerleader. I’m Lydia Deukmedjian, and I’m here to support you as you navigate change, rediscover your strengths and move toward the life you want to create.

My approach blends professional training and evidence-based practice with empathy, insight and a genuine belief in your capacity to grow. I believe that ‘everything we experience is an opportunity to learn and grow’.

Our experiences shape who we are. We are NOT broken. We ARE resilient, resourceful and capable of achieving meaningful change. Even the most difficult chapters of life can become the foundation for deeper self-awareness and self-empowerment.

Change is not about being fixed; it is about reconnecting with your amazing inner self and consciously choosing your next step forward.

A client came to counselling exhausted from trying to “just cope with life” and “get on with it.” They were showing up to work, caring for others and meeting expectations, yet internally felt anxious, overwhelmed, and constantly doubting themselves, worried about what others might think if they admitted they were struggling.

 

In our work together, we explored the pressure to be ‘everything to everyone’ and the fear of disappointing others. We addressed unhelpful beliefs while building self-awareness and self-compassion, and learning the difference between self-care and selfishness. Together, we developed practical strategies to manage stress, communicate needs more confidently, and set clearer boundaries.

 

Over time, anxiety reduced, confidence grew, and decision-making became easier. They moved out of survival mode, found balance in their responsibilities, and began to experience improved relationships, renewed joy, and a ripple effect that inspired change in others.
