Humans Before Homes: Decluttering
Ready to create the home you want? It begins with your mind — not just the mess.
Service Description
(12 x 1 hour sessions over 12 week) This 12-week program offers a gentle, person-centred and trauma-informed space to understand and reshape your relationship with acquiring, saving, and the belongings in your home. Guided by the evidence-based Buried in Treasures approach, we explore the emotional, practical, and thinking patterns that contribute to overwhelm, with compassion, respect, and careful attention to safety, choice, and readiness. Together, we gently uncover what fuels the urge to acquire or hold onto items, untangling the beliefs and emotions connected to them without pressure or judgment. You’ll develop practical, achievable strategies to reduce overwhelm and create a living space that feels calmer, lighter, and more supportive of the life you want to live. Each week progresses at a pace that honours your capacity and sense of control, strengthening confidence, problem solving skills, and self-trust. The focus isn’t perfection, but steady, empowering progress—helping you reclaim your space while feeling supported, understood, and safe throughout the process.
